ISP Development SIG Description
Intelligence-Empowered Sustainable Transformation: A New Era for Taiwan's ISP Industry As the global community enters the era of next-generation communications, Taiwan's ISP industry is navigating the dual challenges of "digital resilience" and "net-zero transformation." These are no longer just broad corporate visions but practical hurdles that network operations and technical managers must overcome on the front lines. As a core segment of Internet Week 2026, this panel discussion aims to explore how technology can substantively empower sustainable development through in-depth industry exchange. Moving away from abstract discourse, this session adopts a "precision-focused, practical dialogue" format. We have invited technical experts and operations leads from Taiwan's leading telecommunications providers and industry analysts to deconstruct two core propositions: First, how AI-driven automated operations (AIOps) can be implemented for intelligent energy saving in data centers and base stations, converting intelligence into tangible carbon reduction results; second, how to balance the increased power consumption challenges that arise when deploying resilient infrastructures like Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites and heterogeneous networks. Through the sharing of real-world experiences among industry peers, we aim to map out a transformation path that is resilient, efficient, and environmentally friendly, building a smarter and more trusted communication foundation for Taiwan. Technical Community & Infrastructure Capacity Building Description
Internet governance is often perceived as a matter of public policy and regulation. However, at its core, it relies on stable and trustworthy technical infrastructure. From the Domain Name System (DNS) and IP address allocation to the development of Internet standards, the technical community has long played a pivotal role in the global Internet governance ecosystem. Organizations such as ICANN, IETF, and APNIC operate through open, bottom-up, multistakeholder models. Amid rapid digital transformation and rising geopolitical risks, countries are placing increasing emphasis on “technical capacity” as a critical component of Internet governance. This includes infrastructure resilience, participation in technical standard-setting, and the cultivation of local talent with strong international engagement. This session will explore how Taiwan can strengthen the capacity of its technical community, deepen its participation in global Internet governance mechanisms, and build sustainable infrastructure capabilities to support an open, secure, and resilient Internet.
